Tam-Tam\TBWA supports the Mouvement média d’ici.

12/7/2023

In response to Bill C-18, and as a member of the Association of Creative Communications Agencies (A2C), we support the Mouvement média d’ici and recognize more than ever the importance of investing in local media.

As an agency with majority Quebec ownership, we believe that freedom of the press is a cornerstone of our democracy that must be preserved and promoted. Along with many of our colleagues and clients, we are concerned by the fact that Meta and Google are threatening to block users from accessing news content and information on their platforms. This would have a major impact on the visibility of local media and limit access to a variety of quality information.

Tam-Tam\TBWA stands by the objective set by the Mouvement média d’ici, which consists of investing 25% of our digital media budget to support local and regional Canadian media. As a strategic partner, we are committed to guiding our clients by recommending ways to diversify their communication strategies, proposing innovative solutions to achieve marketing goals while sustaining the local media ecosystem

We understand that the situation is complex, but we firmly believe it’s our responsibility as an engaged agency to defend the values we hold dear.

We invite our clients and the industry at large to add their voices to his important national collective movement by pledging to support the Mouvement média d’ici.
